George Washington and His Teeth
Many years ago our country was formed by some of the greatest men America has ever known. One of those men was George Washington. He was famous for many great things he did for our country. He was the first president, he lead our country in a great way. George Washington was also famous for his teeth. A dentist in Bellevue explains that he began to lose his teeth in his early twenties. His tooth loss problem was one that would follow him for the rest of his life.
When George Washington began to lose his teeth, he looked for many different solutions. It's fascinating to know that dentures where around in his time. (In one form or another). His dentures were made of different things. Wood, bone and even buffalo chips. As his teeth would continually fall out he would seek help in many places, and they were able to form him dentures. George Washington’s wooden teeth have interested dentists all over the world.
Another dentist in Bellevue explained that had George Washington lived in our time, his mouth and teeth would have looked just like anybody else’s. With the great technology and new techniques used for dentures and tooth loss repair, most can't even tell that people use dentures or implants. Thank goodness that today we don't need to use wood for teeth. A splintered up mouth would be pretty uncomfortable. Thanks to George Washington, we've learned to use the best.
