Wisdom Teeth

In most of our teen years our wisdom teeth begin to grow in. A dentist in Vancouver says some of the signs that the wisdom teeth are growing into place are pain and pressure in the jaw, ears and even eyes. When these symptoms are felt, it’s a great idea to visit a dentist as soon as you can to have them removed. The more time they are in the mouth the more damage they can produce there.

The wisdom teeth need to be removed because they grow in crooked. They are located in the very back of the mouth behind all the other teeth. There are four of them in total and it is very uncommon that they grow in straight. If they are not removed, they begin to push against the other teeth, squishing them together and causing them to hurt and grow crooked as well. If they are not removed, many times braces are needed to fix the teeth afterwards.

The dentist in Vancouver says that wisdom teeth can be very painful and cause all kinds of problems until we get them removed. In very rare cases they don’t need to be removed, however, if you have felt or are feeling any of the symptoms mentioned above, it might be time for you to get your wisdom teeth removed. Ask your dentist as soon as possible.
