Pop Corn

Do you love snacks? Is it impossible for you to watch a movie without popcorn? A dentist in Cambridge explains that popcorn is a family loved snack and movie theaters all over the world make millions of dollars because of it, however popcorn can actually be dangerous for the teeth. Many people have either chipped or broken their teeth because of popcorn. Others have had problems with cavities as well. Here’s how it happens.

In a bowl of popcorn, there are always several kernels that do not explode into that fluffy cloudlike taste we love. When people grab handfuls of popcorn they don’t realize that they sometimes have kernels in their hands as well. They bite down hard on the kernels, and because of how hard they are, they can break and even chip teeth. Kernels can get stuck between the teeth and lay there comfortably for sometime without us even noticing for many days. This can be a huge problem for the teeth.

The dentist in Cambridge says that while eating popcorn make sure to be careful not bite down on kernels so you can protect your teeth from that harm. Make sure to rinse out your mouth and floss when you can as a way to keep your teeth healthy and clean and safe from popcorn kernels.
